Error description

  • We have an automation script that raises an exception (a
    message box
    displayed to the user) on Asset status change on specific
    conditions.
    It is used to inform users that the status requested cannot be
    applied.
    This script is working fine in Maximo 7.6.0.4.

    We upgraded to Maximo 7.6.0.6 and the script now behaves
    erratically.
    After raising the exception, the asset mbo is stuck at its
    current
    state and no status change can be executed nor the exception
    raised
    again unless some other field is changed and saved.

    To demonstrate this issue I created a simple script that
    triggers the
    bug.
    Please note that I could reproduce the same issue in another
    7.6.0.6
    environment. Make sure to test the same script in a Maximo
    7.6.0.4

    environment to compare the behaviors.

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    Create the script(phyton)

    - Create a an attribute script for field ASSET.STATUS
    - Event should be Validate
    - This simple script should trigger the problem:
    if status == "OPERATING":
        errorgroup = "asset"
        errorkey = "statuschangefailure"

    1.Go to Asset app > create new asset> change status to
    OPERATING and it
    will show the error key.
       Changing the status to something else will allow it.

    Now on 7606, once the error key is shown, no status change will
    occur
    on that asset again until the server is restarted. The asset
    will stay
    on it's current status even if Maximo shows that it
    successfully saved
    the record.
