Error description

  • The 7.5.0.8-IFIX20160823-1144 should solve a Problem with the
    inheritance (apply down hierarchy) of classspecusewith when
    adding an attribute. On Classifcation the inheritance will
    showing correctly after installing the fix. But in the
    applications (Assets, Configuration Items and Item Master) an
    attribute which is inherited to Assets only
    for example, will be inheritance to objects/records in
    Configuration Items and Item Master too. That attribute should
    only be added in Assets.

    L2 ACTION TAKEN
    =================

    I have been able to reproduce the same new behaviour in
    7.5.0.8-IFIX20160823-1144.

    Steps to reproduce
    ==================
    1. Goto Administration > Classifications

    2. Search for a high level classification (ROLLER) with a child
    i.e 43201404

    3. Scroll down to section Attributes

    4. Click New Row

    5. Enter an attribute name i.e COUNTY

    6. Click Open Use with Object Detail

    7. Mark Row for Delete Location, workorder and Iteam (only
    ASSET should be used with)

    8. Click OK

    9. Check apply down hiearchy

    10.Save

    11. Click on Detail menu of Children classification 43201404
    --> select Move to 43201404

    12. Click on "Use with Object Detail" of COUNTY

    Good Expected results: You see only ASSET

    13. Go to Inventory --> Item Master

    14. Click Advanced Search--> Enter BEARING \ ROLLER --> Click
    FIND

    15. Open a record and go to specification tab

    PROBLEM: You can see COUNTY attribute is also added in part of
    Item Master, this is incorrect.

    EXPECTED RESULTS: COUNTY attribute should only belongs to ASSET

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * New attribute added in Classifications app but with use with *
    * objects deleted in the Use With Object Details dialog was *
    * still inserted into the actual Specifications. For example, *
    * in the Use With Object Detail dialog, user deleted the *
    * object ITEM. The attribute was added to Item Specifications *
    * when OK is clicked. The new attribute should not be added to *
    * ItemSpec.                                                    *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    * Before the fix is available, instead of deleting the use *
    * with objects WORKORDER, ITEM, LOCATIONS, un-select the *
    * checkbox - 'Use In Specifications?'.                         *
