IV90039: CANNOT UPDATE INVENTORY USAGE DOCUMENT IF THE ASSOCIATED RESERVATION IS CANCELLED

Error description

  • Problem Details:
    If a reservation is deleted after being associated to an
    Inventory Usage record, the record is not able to be modified,
    canceled, or otherwise processsed as expected.
    
    Steps to reproduce:
    -Log in to maxdemo instance as wilson
    -Go To Inventory | Inventory
    -In the Item field press Enter
    -Identify an Item that is associated with two Storerooms, and
    has a quantity of at least 1 in one of the Storerooms, such as
    10112 (ex. CENTRAL and PKG)
    -Go To Purchasing | Purchase Orders
    -Click the New PO button on the toolbar
    -Check the Internal checkbox in the Vendor section
    -In the Storeroom field enter "central" and tab out
    -In the Required Date field use the Select Date and Time button
    and click on tomorrow's date
    -Click OK
    -On the PO Lines tab click the New Row button
    -In the Item field enter 10112 and tab out
    -In the Quantity field enter 1
    -In the Storeroom field enter "pkg" and tab out
    -Save the record
    -Click the Change Status button on the toolbar
    -In the New Status field use the drop-down arrow and click
    Approved
    -Click OK
    
    -Go To Inventory | Inventory Usage
    -Click the New Inventory Usage button on the toolbar
    -In the From Storeroom field enter "central" and tab out
    -In the Usage Type field | Select Value | click TRANSFER
    -Click the Select Reserved Items button
    -Click the checkbox to select 10112, for the Purchase Order
    that you just created
    -Click OK
    -Save the record
    
    -Select Action | Add/Modify Reservations
    -Locate the record for the reservation that you just created
    (ex. enter PO number in Purchase Order field and press Enter)
    -With the row highlighted in the Add/Modify Reservations
    dialog, click the Mark Row for Delete button
    -Click OK
    
    -Click the Change Status button on the toolbar of the Inventory
    Usage record
    -Click the Change Status button on the toolbar
    -In the New Status field use the drop-down arrow and click
    Shipped
    -Click OK
    -In the Create Shipment dialog click the OK button
    -System Message appears, System Message BMXAA7704E The
    inventory usage lines 1, relate to a delete inventory
    reservation.  Do you want to proceed with the status change for
    these lines?
    -Click Yes
    -In the New Status field use the drop-down arrow and click
    Shipped, then click OK
    -Click OK at the Create Shipment dialog
    *The System Message will appear and repeat this as long as
    Shipped is selected in the New Status field;
    
    *If the User clicks Cancel at the Change Status dialog, and
    then clicks Cancel at the Create Shipment dialog; this will
    allow the Inventory Usage document to be updated appropriately;
    if this is not done after the first attempt to change status at
    the Create Shipment dialog, then the following error condition
    is created:
    
    *If a Status other than Shipped is selected at the Create
    Shipment dialog, another appropriate System Message will appear
    indicating that a different status has been selected.
    
    *If a Status other than Completed is selected at the Create
    Shipment dialog, and focus is returned to the Inventory Usage
    document, then the Status Change function cannot be used; a
    System Message appears when clicking on the Change Status
    button on the toolbar:
    "BMXAA4042E - The status cannot be changed for the selected
    records."
    
    If you click OK to exit the System Message, then click the Mark
    Row for Delete button on the Usage Lines, the System Message
    appears,
    "BMXAA1817E - You cannot delete and existing record.
