APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Abend S0C1 when shutting down the Tivoli Enterprise Management
  Server.
  The failure occurs in kdspac1.c's VPA11_TermPath() function when
  it calls VPA1_DestroyPath(server) using a path handle that's
  pointing to storage that has already been freed.
  RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
  This is timing related and cannot be reproduced at will.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• The monitoring server on z/OS abends with an S0C1 during
  shutdown.
  
  The monitoring server on z/OS abends during shutdown with an
  S0C1 when accessing a path object that has already been freed.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code has been changed to verify that the path object being
  referenced is valid before attempting to destroy it.
  
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
