    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Some records in table EVNTMAP contain x'00' in the TYPE column
    instead of x'20' (blank).  If this occurs, these records are
    not processed during TEMS initialization and the associated
    situation events that are being forwarded do not get the proper
    slot customization data.
    
    
    RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
    
    LOCAL FIX:
    Use kdstsns to run the following SQL:
    
    UPDATE O4SRV.EVNTMAP SET TYPE = ' ';
    
    Then run the following command:
    
    tacmd refreshTECinfo -t maps

Local fix

  • Use kdstsns to run the following SQL:
    
    UPDATE O4SRV.EVNTMAP SET TYPE = ' ';
    
    Then run the following command:
    
    tacmd refreshTECinfo -t maps
    

Problem summary

  • Some forwarded events do not have the correct customized slot
    information.
    
    
    If SQL is used to alter or repair records in table EVNTMAP, they
    can become damaged by having the TYPE column value changed from
    x'20' (blank) to x'00'.  When the monitoring server is
    restarted, these records will not be processed and then
    situation events associated with these records will no longer
    contain the correct customized slot data.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been changed to always process all records in table
     EVNTMAP.
    
    
    The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
    packages:
    
      | fix pack | 6.3.0-TIV-ITM-FP0003
    

Temporary fix

  • On each affected hub monitoring server, use program kdstsns to
    execute the following SQL statement:
    
    UPDATE O4SRV.EVNTMAP SET TYPE = ' ';   <= Note blank between
    the quotes
    
    Then restart the hub monitoring server.
    
    After completing the above actions on each of the affected hub
    monitoring servers, perform the same actions on any
    corresponding mirror monitoring servers.
