Error description

  • Using the filter "Compare Date and Time" seems to return no
    data. We observe the timestamp displayed in the report, and try
    to create a filter with the exact same timestamp, but once
    applied no data is returned.  Attached video
    "TimestampFilter.wmv" is a video
    demonstrating the behavior.
    
    The videos demonstrates the issues using IBM Tivoli Advanced
    Reporting for DFSMShsm, but it seems to happen for other
    products also.

Problem summary

  • On the portal client, an empty or incorrect view may be
    displayed if a 'Compare Date and Time' function is used to
    filter the result set on a time stamp value.
    
    
    On the portal client, an empty or incorrect view may be
    displayed if a 'Compare Date and Time' function is used to
    filter the result set on a time stamp value.  An 'equal'
    comparison will almost always result in an empty view while
    'less than' or 'greater than' comparisons may include more or
    less data rows than expected.  A 'not equal' comparison will
    almost always be true for all data rows.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The time stamp filter logic was changed to ignore the
    millisecond part of time stamp data values when comparing
    against the user-provided comparison value unless that value
    explicitly includes milliseconds.
    
    The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
