APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When the client receives a Windows return code 362 or 381 or 395
    the client can log an ANS1999E error and the backup operation
    terminate while it should be allowed to continue.
    
    This APAR addresses the same problem as APAR IT26447 but the fix
    introduced in version 8.1.7.0 does not correct all situations.
    This second APAR is needed to include additional corrections.
    
    Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
    
    Review the error log for the Windows result code being received.
    The definition for these codes are:
    362 ERROR_CLOUD_FILE_PROVIDER_NOT_RUNNING,
    381 ERROR_CLOUD_FILE_READ_ONLY_VOLUME
    395 ERROR_CLOUD_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED

Local fix

  • Specifying the following testflag in the client option file,
    replace XXX with the Windows return code being received, this
    will allow the operation to continue.
       TESTFLAG CONTINUEWITHUNKNOWNRC:XXX
    
    If multiple return codes are encountered ( ie: 362 + 395 ),
    contact IBM Spectrum Protect support.

Problem conclusion

  • Windows returned codes 362, 381 and 395 will be mapped to the
    RC_ACCESS_DENIED, so backup will continue.
