APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After applying 2018.4.1.5, user started seeing NTP
configuration changing and asking user to review the changes
    and save the config..

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Due to the nature of the field "Local time, last applied" on NTP
Service and Time Settings objects, updates to this field outside
of Object commits will cause false positives on the Save config
prompt. This results in showing the user there are unsaved
changes when ifact there are not.

Problem conclusion

  • Make the field "Local time, last applied" on NTP and Time
Settings objects not diffable so they do not appear in Config
    Comparisons.
Add a special case to prevent these two object's fields from
    triggering the unsaved changes prompt.

    Fixed in: 2018.4.1.9
