APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When DataPower is using a JMS connection to a Websphere
Application Server, DataPower might ignore the blocked retry
settings on the WAS side and send messages at its own rate.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Affected is the user of DataPower using WebSphere JMS service to
    connect to WAS JMS server.
When both functions "Maintain strict message order" and "Blocked
retry timeout in milliseconds" for the data destination in WAS
JMS server are enabled, DataPower sometimes might not receive
    the
messages from server side correctly and falls to the loop to
    receive the same message repeatedly.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

  • Do not enable both functions "Maintain strict message order" and
"Blocked retry timeout in milliseconds" at the same time in WAS
    JMS server.
