Error description

  • When defining a one-time client action schedule by Operations
Center, the schedule definition may end with the following error
shown both in the Operations Center and Server activity log:
" ANR1504I DEFINE CLIENTACTION : No matching domains"

    Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
The problem is caused by the background command which will
define the schedule with domain=NULL; for example:

ANR2017I Administrator ADMIN issued command: DEFINE CLIENTACTION
    xxx domain=null action=INCREMENTAL options=xxx objects=xxx

This happens regardless the node has a defined domain and the
domain is also specified by the schedule on which the Operations
Center wants to base to create the temporary schedule (@...).

    IBM Spectrum Protect versions affected:
IBM Spectrum Protect Operations Center version 8.1.5 on
    supported platforms
    MDVPARTL 8.1.5.0-TIV_5608E01UI- IT24292

    Initial Impact:
    Low

    Additional Keywords:
TSM "Spectrum Protect" OC one client schedule "DEFINE
    CLIENTACTION" ANR2017I "domain=null" #TS001576978

Local fix

  • RTC ID: 577534

Use command line instead than Operations Center to define the
    one-time client action schedule.
