Error description

  • Attempting no-query restores (NQR) via the storage agent
    (LANfree) from a storage pool of device class DISK may hang
    after some files have been restored
    
    Additional conditions are:
       - the option RESTOREMIGSTATE is set to NO
       - target storage pool for backup and space management are
    different
    
    IBM Spectrum Protect versions affected:
        8.1.6 IBM Spectrum Protect client on AIX / Linux
    
    Initial Impact: Middle
    
    Additional Keywords: storageagent
    

Local fix

  • The following workarounds exist:
       - or use RESTOREMIGSTATE=YES (which is the default)
       - run NQR from DISK type storage pool without the storage
    agent (no LANfree)
       - or do not use NQR, but standard query restore
