Error description

• A PROTECT STGPOOL operation initiated from a source server
  running the 8.1.1.0 version of server code (or lower) to a
  target server running the 8.1.1.1 (or higher) version of server
  code may fail without any indication as to the reason for the
  failure.  The activity log excerpt on the source server will
  show that the operation failed to delete all of the eligible
  extents on the target server:
  
    ANR4980I The protect storage pool process for SRCPOOL on
    server SOURCE to TGTPOOL on server TARGET is complete. Extents
    protected: 0 of 0. Extents failed to protect: 0. Extents
    deleted: 28804 of 98436. Amount protected: 0 bytes of 0 bytes.

    time: 0 Days, 0 Hours, 1 Minutes.
    ANR0985I Process 75336 for PROTECT STGPOOL running in the
    BACKGROUND completed with completion state FAILURE at
    12:40:39.
  
  There are no corresponding errors in the activity log on the
  target server.  A trace of the failing PROTECT STGPOOL operation
  captured on the target server (trace flags SESSION REPLSESS
  SDDEL SDREPLD) will show an invalid chunk type received from the
  source server:
