APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When attempting to use the copy command in application domain,
the command will fail with an error message stating 'Access
    Denied'. For example:
    idg(config)# show usergroup exampleGroup
    usergroup: exampleGroup [up]
    -------------------
     admin-state enabled
     summary "Example User Group"
     access-policy */*/*?Access=rwadx
    idg(config)# top;co;copy -f http://google.com:80
    local:test/get.txt
    Global configuration mode
File copy success (46764 bytes copied)
    idg(config)# switch ApplicationDomain
    idg[ApplicationDomain](config)# top;co;copy -f
    http://google.com:80 local:test/get.txt
    Global configuration mode
% Access Denied - use 'cancel' to exit any submode.

Local fix

  • There are two possible workarounds to this issue:
      1. Turn off "apply to CLI" parameter in RBM settings (default
    domain)
      2. Do not use the -f flag within copy command. For example:
    idg[ApplicationDomain](config)# top;co;copy
    http://google.com:80 local:test/get.txt
    Global configuration mode
    Copy: overwrite 'local:test/get.txt'? Yes/No [y/n]: y
File copy success (46781 bytes copied)

Problem summary

  • Using the copy command when enable RBM is on for CLI, the copy
command may fail with "Access Denied".
