Error description
A Spectrum Protect Backup-Archive client node is replicated to a target server. The node is used to back up VMs. One or more VMs are decommissioned on both the source and target servers. The VMs eventually expire from the source server but remain on the target server. Customer/L2 Diagnostics : - The Operations Center shows the VM is decommissioned under the "At Risk" column for the target server. - On the target server, the QUERY FILESPACE command also shows "Decommissioned: Yes". - On the target server, a select command issued against the BACKUPS table shows all objects are inactive and past their expiration date. - On the source server, the Query REPLServer command shows the target server Dissimilar Policies is set to OFF (or set to its default blank value). Initial Impact: Medium Additional Keywords: SP TSM Versions Affected: IBM Spectrum Protect server V7.1 and V8.1 and above, on all platforms. Only target servers which use similar policies are affected. Target servers which use dissimilar policies are not affected.
Local fix
On the target server, run the DELETE FILESPACE command to delete the filespace of the decommissioned VM that should have been expired.
