IT24005: THE "KEEP THE XX MOST RECENT UPDATES" OPERATIONS CENTER OPTIONS NEEDS IMPROVED EXPLANATION IN THE DOCUMENTATION

Error description

• When enabling the Client updates feature in the Operation
  Center, it is possible to select how many versions to keep in
  the local repository by the multi-selection option called "keep
  the XX most recent updates" .
  The documentation  needs to be improved to specify that the
  packages seen when clicking on each version,  is independent
  from the choice made by the "keep the XX most recent updates"
  parameter.
  This option only determines the number of update packages to
  keep in the local repository before cleaning them out.
  The packages seen when clicking on the version tab (for example
  8.1) shows how many clients are available to upgrade for that
  version,  given the available update packages.
  The available update packages are determined from the
  catalog.json file at
  ftp://public.dhe.ibm.com/storage/tivoli-storage-management/catal
  og/client/ .

  The Backup Clients Updates page of the Operations Center shows a
  number of
  available updates for each client version. The number of
  packages shown depends
  on the number of packages that are available in a catalog.json
  file. The number
  of updates might also be limited by a configuration setting that
  specifies how
  many update packages are retained for each product version.
  Previously, the help
  text mentioned only the configuration setting, which might cause
  confusion if there
  are fewer packages available.
  

Problem conclusion

• The help text is changed to also describe the catalog file and
  its effect on
  the Backup Clients Updates page.
