Problem conclusion

  • This problem was fixed.
Affected platforms for reported release: AIX, HP, Linux,
    Solaris, and Windows.
Fixed platforms: AIX, Linux, and Windows.

ANR9013W The RESETDRIVES parameter was not specified for library
    XYZ. For this reason,
the server cannot access tape drives that are reserved by
    another server in the specified
    library.

    Explanation
If a reservation conflict occurs in a failover cluster or a
    shared library environment,
the server cannot access tape drives that are already reserved
    by another server.
To ensure that the server can clear a tape drive reservation,
    the RESETDRIVES=YES
    parameter must be specified.

    System Action
System operation continues, but the server cannot access the
    tape drives that are
reserved by another server in the failover cluster or shared
    library environment.

    User Response
Issue the UPDATE LIBRARY command and set the RESETDRIVES
    parameter to YES.
If you are in a failover cluster environment, set the
    RESETDRIVES parameter
to YES when the SHARED parameter for the library is set to NO
    (default value).
If you are in a shared library environment, set the RESETDRIVES
    parameter to
YES when the SHARED parameter is set to YES.
Tip: To determine the value of the SHARED parameter, issue the
    following command:
query library library_name f=d where library_name specifies the
    name of the library.
For tape drives reserved by a SCSI-2 reserve, the
    RESETDRIVES=YES parameter must
be specified to enable a LUN reset to clear the reservation. A
    LUN reset is required
only in an IBM AIX or Microsoft Windows environment. For tape
    drives reserved by a
SCSI-3 persistent reserve, the RESETDRIVES=YES parameter must be
    specified to
    preempt or clear the reservation.
