    stand-alone utility mode, for EXTRACTDB or INSERTDB

    Under the APAR condition the following message might be recorded
    in the extractdb/insertdb log file before the crash:
    ANR0478W Session request refused. Server is running in
    standalone mode.
    
    The symptom is seen when a client connects that is configured to
    use the authorization protocol that became available with 7.1.8
    and 8.1.2 clients.

Local fix

  • When running EXTRACTDB/INSERTDB, temporarily change the
    server's TCPPORT and SSLPORT to prevent clients from connecting
    to the server.
