IT23067: CONFIGURATION WIZARD ON WINDOWS CAN FAIL WITH "THE DATABASE AND/OR LOG PATHS COULD NOT BE VERIFIED"

APAR status

Error description

  • If the Server Configuration Wizard on Windows platform is used
    to reconfigure an existing instance (for
    example, to redefine it in a Microsoft Cluster), and the
    instance name is 8 characters or longer, the Configuration
    Wizard will fail with a 'Database Verification Error' window and
     error message "The database and/or log paths could not be
    verified".
    
    The dsmicfgx.trc will show an error similar to following:

    This is an issue with the Server Configuration Wizard handling
    "&&" operator and DB2 handling instance names which exceed the
    upper limit for instance names of 8 characters.

    IBM Spectrum Protect server V7 and V8 on Windows platform

  • Remove the instance and define new one, using name with 7
    characters or less.
