APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • On the DataPower for Linux platform, multiple hostname alias
entries in the /etc/hosts file are ignored while parsing it for
the Static Hosts configuration, i.e. an entry like the
    following:
    127.0.0.1 localhost localhost1 localhost2
only extracts the 'localhost' part, but ignores all
    the subsequent aliases.

Local fix

  • Use one static host alias per line.

Problem summary

  • Affected are all users of IDG for Linux and Docker, who have to
use the /etc/hosts file to define DataPower's DNS configuration.

By the usage of multiple static host aliases in the hosts file,
    e.g.:
    127.0.0.1 localhost localhost1 localhost2

the unfixed DataPower firmware will only use the first alias
    "localhost", but not the others.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix
