Error description

  • Error Description:
    
    If you see the following symptoms, you may be running into this
    defect.
    
    1) Run "DEFine STGPOOLDIRectory"  and it appears to
    successfully add one or more directories
    
    
    2) The command output will also show ANR3252E for one or more
    directories and they will appear to have been added successfully
    
    
    For example:
    
    DEFine STGPOOLDIRectory BACKUPPOOL
    /lspace/tsmserver/dircontainer4,/lspace/tsmserver/dircontainer1
    ANR2017I Administrator SERVER_CONSOLE issued command: DEFINE
    STGPOOLDIRECTORY BACKUPPOOL
    /lspace/tsmserver/dircontainer4,/lspace/tsmserver/dircontainer1
    
    ANR3254I Storage pool directory /lspace/tsmserver/dircontainer4
    was defined in storage pool BACKUPPOOL
    
    
    ANR3252E DEFINE STGPOOLDIRECTORY: Directory
    /lspace/tsmserver/dircontainer1 is already defined in
    storage pool BACKUPPOOL.
    
    3) The directories will disappear  and not be displayed at all
    the next time the server is restarted.
    
    4) Server directory container pool directory ID numbers are not
    being displayed in the QUERY STGPOOLDIRECTORY command
    
    
    Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: ALL server versions
    7.1.3 and higher, 8.1.0 and higher

    You may see the following in the dsmffdc.log:
    
    
    [ FFDC_REPLICATION ]: (sdrtrv.c:2754) Error 9973 opening
    container  in  pool
    [ FFDC_GENERAL_SERVER_ERROR ]: (sdrtrv.c:5347) Unable to open
    container (1234) due to rc = 9973.
    
    
    Running SHOW SDCONTAINER against the affected container may show
    the same rc=9973:
    
         show sdcontainer 1234
    
    ** Could not show container: 1234, rc 9973 **
    
    Running  AUDIT CONTAINER STGPOOLDIR of affected container
    directory may show:

Local fix

  • Until fix is available you can run  DEFINE STGPOOLDIRECTORY and
    use DB2 commands to update the DIRIDS (Directory ID number)
