APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When configuring a DataBase connection and a host alias is used
    for the connection string, where the host alias is mapped to an
    IP address, DataPower performs a DNS lookup first instead of
    using the mapped IP address.

Local fix

  • The work around until applying this fix is to use an IP address
    instead of the host alias for the DataBase connection string

Problem summary

  • For DataPower users who use database connection and have defined
    database server IP in DataPower Host Alias configuration,
    DataPower doesn't use Host Alias data but always performs a DNS
    lookup.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

  • Use IP address instead of Host Alias configuration in DataPower.
