APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The user observed DataPower might restart unexpectedly in rare
conditions of using Called Rules in asynchronous Conditional
    Actions.

Local fix

  • Change Conditional Action to be synchronous or make sure the
rule doesn't have a Results Action.

Problem summary

  • Affected are certain invalid DataPower configurations, with
Processing Policies containing processing rules that use
asynchronous conditional or call actions to ultimately execute a
rule that generates an output, e.g. with a Results action.

Such invalid configurations are not detected by DataPower
and might result in a restart, generating a
backtrace. The fixed firmware will log an error message instead.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix
