APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• On Mac OS X platforms, the error "ANS4018E <filespec> filename
  too long" message might be seen unexpectedly for files not
  exceeding the limits.
  Limits are specified in the manual as follows :
  "The length of a file specification is limited. On AIX, HP-UX,
  Solaris, and Mac: The maximum number of characters for a file
  name is 255. The maximum combined length of the file name and
  path name is 1024 characters. The Unicode representation of a
  character can occupy several bytes, so the maximum number of
  characters that a file name might contain can vary."
  
  The error will be seen in the dsmerror.log of the client.
