IT17714: LOCK CONTENTION MAY OCCUR ON THE SERVER WHEN ENDING TRANSACTIONSINVOLVING CLOUD STORAGE POOLS

Error description

  • When a transaction involving a cloud storage pool ends, the
    server will attempt to cleanup the existing cloud connection.
    The amount of time required to perform this cleanup will vary
    depending on the amount of activity that has occurred within the
    cloud storage pool.  The transaction will continue to hold locks
    on the previously allocated cloud storage pool containers while
    waiting for the cleanup operation to complete.  As a result,
    lock contention may occur if the cleanup operation takes a
    signficant amount of time to complete.  Review the output from
    the SHOW THREADS command to confirm whether you are affected by
    this issue; the output from the SHOW THREADS command will show
    one or more transactions in a state similar to the following:
