Error description

  • Issuing the MOVE DATA command against a volume in an active data
storage pool may result in the following error, even though the
active data storage pool is not deduplicated:

ANR4895E Deduplicated bitfile 123456789 on volume
       /vols/00000001.BFS has invalid links.

The problem occurs because the MOVE DATA operation attempts to
copy an inactive grouped object, instead of skipping this object
as expected. Because the object has a length of 0, the server
believes that the object is deduplicated which results in the
ANR4895E error. The ANR4895E error can be ignored in the sense
that there is no problem with the actual data, however, the MOVE
DATA operation will fail as a result of this error. This
problem will only be seen when issuing the MOVE DATA command to
move data between volumes in the same storage pool.

    Platforms Affected:
All V6 and V7 server versions

    Initial Impact:
    Low
