Error description
The Tivoli Storage Manager server "EXTEND DB" command uses the DB2 "ALTER DATABASE ADD STORAGE" command which is deprecated for DB2 10.5. Because of this, the server is still exposed to DB2 APAR DB2 APAR IT14021: "DB2 MIGHT TRAP ON "ALTER DATABASE ADD STORAGE" IF FILE SYSTEM DISK SECTOR SIZE IS NOT OF 512 BYTES" Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: 7.1 Customer/L2 Diagnostics (If Applicable) Under the APAR condition, there is no error returned upon the "EXTEND DB" initiated "ALTER DATABASE ADD STORAGE" when NO FILE SYSTEM CACHING and disk sector size is not 512 bytes. Local fix
only use file systems with 512 file system disk sector size for the Tivoli Storage Manager database containers.
