APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A select from the policysets table performed on the server may
    show duplicate entries if the following conditions are true:
    
    -  Server Enterprise Configuration is used.
    -  Some configuration objects like client option set, or admin
     schedule are created using the same name as an existing Domain.
    -  All the objects with the same name ( Domain, Cloptset, or
     Admin schedule ), are associated to a managed profile.
    
    If these conditions exist, this select may show multiple entries
    for the same domain/policy  whilst it should only show one:
      "select * from policysets"
    
    The problem does not exist when doing the below select directly
    from DB2 because the "policysets" table is a view which is built
    based on DB2 tables
    "policy_sets" and joined with "profile_object_names" .
    
       "db2 "select * from tsmdb1.policy_sets"
    
    
    Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected:
      All platforms ,  6.3   and 7.1 releases.
    
    Initial Impact: Low
    
    Additional Keywords:  TSM , Spectrum Protect ISP double SQL
    

Local fix

  • - Use "select distinct * from policysets"
     or
    - Use Query commands instead of select until resolution.
