Error description

  • Problem Description:
The Tivoli Storage Management server fails to start after a
cloud-container storage pool has been renamed using the RENAME
    STGPOOL command.

    Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
The following messages are displayed during server startup:

    ANR0991I Server shutdown complete.

The server fails to start because it is unable to retrieve the
password configured for the storage pool's cloud provider.

Local fix

  • 1) Issue the following DB2 commands to reset the cloud-container
    storage pool's password:

    db2start
    db2 connect to tsmdb1
    db2 "update tsmdb1.ss_pools set cloudpw=NULL where
    poolname='<poolname>'"
    db2 terminate
    db2stop

where <poolname> is the new name of the cloud-container storage
    pool that was renamed.

    2) Restart the server.

    3) Issue the UPDATE STGPOOL command to reconfigure the password
for the cloud-container storage pool's cloud provider:

    UPDATE STGPOOL <poolname> PASSWORD="<password>"

where <poolname> is the new name of the cloud-container storage
pool that was renamed and <password> is the password for the
    storage pool's cloud provider.
