Error description
Spectrum Storage, formerly Tivoli Storage Manager, can encounter an ANR8409E message during the CHECKOUT LIBVOLUME process. The message will look as such: ANR8409E CHECKOUT LIBVOLUME: Library is not defined. The library name is missing from the CHECKOUT LIBVOLUME command. This issue occurs when there are more than 42 volumes to be processed from the same library. Spectrum Protect will split the volumes into batches to be processed and will put no more than 42 volumes in each batch. The first batch processes successfully, the second batch is when the ANR8409E message is encountered. Spectrum Storage and Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: Spectrum Storage 7.1.3 Customer/L2 Diagnostics (If Applicable) Collect a trace with the trace flags PVR MMS NA DRM ORM. The results of the trace show the following: [mmsdrm.c][446][MmsCheckoutLibVol]:Checking out 42 volumes from library 3500LIB with force = 0, checkLabel = 0, removeCart = 1, bulkEject = 1, failIfEEfull = 0. Then the completion messages for that first batch: [PutConsoleMsg]:ANR6697I MOVE DRMEDIA: CHECKOUT LIBVOLUME for volume ABC1234 in library completed successfully.~ [PutConsoleMsg]:ANR6683I MOVE DRMEDIA: Volume ABC1234 was moved from MOUNTABLE state to VAULT.~ At that point the first batch is completed and Spectrum Protect moves onto the second batch: [mmsdrm.c][446][MmsCheckoutLibVol]:Checking out 26 volumes from library with force = 0, checkLabel = 0, removeCart = 1, bulkEject = 1, failIfEEfull = 0. As you can see in this second batch the library name, 3500LIB, is missing. Initial Impact: Low|Medium|High Medium Additional Keywords: ZZ713 TSM ADSM IT04271 DRM Disaster Recovery |MDVREGR 7.1.3.0|
