APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Using the original rc.tsmstgagnt script to start the Storage
  Agent may fail after an upgrade of the Storage Agent from V6.x
  to V7.1.
  
  Example:
  root@server:/opt/tivoli/tsm/StorageAgent/bin# ./rc.tsmstgagnt
  nn/dd/yy hh:mm:ss Starting Tivoli Storage Manager storage agent
  ./rc.tsmstgagnt[18]: dsmsta:  not found.
  
  These are the last two lines from the rc.tsmstgagnt script:
  cd /opt/tivoli/tsm/StorageAgent/bin
  dsmsta    quiet
  
  This assumes that the "dsmsta" can be found in the search path
  for executables as defined by the PATH environment variable, but
  in V7.1 - compared to V6.x - of the Storage Agent, there is a
  symbolic link of "dsmsta" missing in /usr/bin (which is usually
  in PATH) and the "dsmsta" can only be found in it's own
  installation path  /opt/tivoli/tsm/StorageAgent/bin (which is
  usually not in PATH) causing rc.tsmstgagnt script to fail.

Local fix

• There are several possibilities to work around this issue:
  1.) Create the symbolic link from /usr/bin/dsmsta to
  /opt/tivoli/tsm/StorageAgent/bin/dsmsta
  2.) Change the rc.tsmstgagnt to have "./dsmsta"  or
  "/opt/tivoli/tsm/StorageAgent/bin/dsmsta" as the very last line
  in the script
  3.) Change the PATH to include the Storage Agent installation
  path /opt/tivoli/tsm/StorageAgent/bin
  4.) Change the PATH to include the current directory i.e. :.:
