Error description

  • The following errors can be reported when tapes are mounted and
    dismounted:
    ANR8311E An I/O error occurred while accessing drive LTODRIVE-6
    (mt6.2.3.4) for QUERYLBP operation, errno = 0, rc = 0.
    
    ANR8311E An I/O error occurred while accessing drive LTODRIVE-2
    (mt2.2.3.4) for QUERYAPPENDONLY operation, errno = 0, rc = 0.
    Tivoli Storage Manager passthru device driver determines a tape
    drive as a non-IBM tape device when an IBM tape drive has a
    product ID of ULTRIUM-HH4, ULTRIUM-HH5, ULTRIUM-HH6, or
    ULTRIUM-HH7 on Windows platform.
    As a result the wrong code path is taken in the Tivoli Storage
    Manager server when running commands against these tape drives
    leading to the ANR8311E error.  This issue will only impact IBM
    tape drives with the device ID strings listed above.  Despite
    the errors being reported, no negative impact to tape operations
    are encountered.

    6.3.x.x and 7.1.x.x Tivoli Storage Manager Server on Windows
