Error description

  • For schedules which have PERUNITS=ONETIME and
    DURUNITS=INDEFINITE,
the corresponding event records will have deadline date of
    2069-10-11.
Even when the event retention limit is exceeded, one-time
schedule events are not deleted from the event table.
When a process or an administrator executes a select from the
event table and scans what are the events associated with a
node, the operation can take a significant time.
The farther away in time the one-time client action was ran in
the past, the longer the select command can take.
The 'query event' server command is not affected.

This behaviour was observed to impact the Tivoli Storage
Manager - Data Protection for VMware GUI.
When, in that interface, the user attempts to display the
scheduled backups, the following error seen is due to the above
    problem :
GVM0005W. The connection with the Tivoli Storage Manager server
    has timed out.

Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: All supported server
    version on all platforms

    Initial Impact: Medium

Additional Keywords: zztsm delay long time-out GVM0005W
