APAR status

Error description

  • "Replicate node" command running for backup versions of 'space
    managed' data (HSM) may fail with following errors:
    
    Source server:
    
    ANR3178E A communication error occurred during session 123 with
    replication server TARGET.
    
    
    Target server:
    
    ANR0443W Protocol error on session 32852 for node NODENAME
    (platform) - invalid
    "extObjId" field found in "ReplBackMetaUpdate" verb (offset 59).
    ANR3178E A communication error occurred during session 32852
    with
    replication server SOURCE.
    ANR0484W Session 32852 for node SOURCE (platform) terminated -
    protocol
    violation detected.
    
    ANR0443W can also report:
    invalid  "extToken" field found in "ReplBackMetaUpdate" verb
    for same reason.
    
    Tivoli Storage Manager Server Versions Affected:  7.1.x on all
    supported platforms
    
    
    Initial Impact: Medium

Local fix

  • Add to dsmserv.opt on the target server:
    NOVERBCHECK
    
    and restart the server process/service.
