Error description

  • A "move data" or "move nodedata" to a disk storage pool may show
    the following type of error:
ANR0102E dfcreate.c(1950): Error 1202 inserting row in table
    "DF.Bitfiles"

This happens because of a conflict between the moved data and
the cached data in the disk pool.
The following conditions must be true for this APAR to match:
     - The disk storage pool has caching activated.
     - The moved data was first stored in this disk storage pool and
then migrated to the next storage pool.
     - The migrated data will be moved from the next storage pool
back to the original disk pool which still has the cached data
(for example for better restore performance from disk instead of
    slow sequential media)

Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: 7.1 on all platforms

    Initial Impact: Medium

Additional Keywords: TSM tsm71 cache caching

Local fix

  • Two solutions:
      1. Disable caching on the disk storage pool by doing: "update
stg <stgname> cache=no" , and clear cached data by doing a
move data for all the disk storage pool volumes using same
source and target storage pool: "move data <volume-name>" .
      2. Use another disk pool as target for the data movement.
