Error description

  • When running a client restore the TSM server
    won't be able to find the data on the Tivoli Storage Manager
    server. The following messages will be seen on the Tivoli
    Storage Manager Server:
    ANR0379W A server database deadlock situation has been encounter
    ed; the lock request for the bf aggregate (superbitfile) id lock
    , superbitfile will be denied to resolve the deadlock.
    ANR0543W Retrieve or restore failed for session # for node noden
    ame - data transfer interrupted. (SESSION: #)
    This issue is due to a deadlock on the Tivoli Storage Manager se
    rver due to
    reclamation running on the TSM server at the same time the resto
    re is being
    ran.
    Review the messages in the activity log and verify if the
    restore and the reclamation are trying to utilize the same
    volume.
    

Local fix

  • Do not run a restore and a reclmation at the same time.
