APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After upgrade to 7.1.0 release, if an AIX system reboot occurs,
  the following error may happen:
  
    ANR8440E Initialization failed for SCSI library LIB1 ; will
  retry in 2 minute(s).
  
  This happens because the devices owned by Tivoli Storage Manager
  device driver will be changed from "Available" to "Defined"
  state after AIX system reboot.
  
  Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected:  7.1.0  on AIX
  platform with device(s) owned by Tivoli Storage Manager device
  driver
  
  Initial Impact: Medium

Local fix

• There is a workaround for resolving this problem. Here are
  steps:
  
  1. issues command as
  
  odmget -q "rule *TSM*" Config_Rules
  
  to see if he gets the output as
  
  p7red1:/ 580# odmget -q "rule like *TSM*" Config_Rules
  
  Config_Rules:
          phase = 2
          seq = 60
          boot_mask = 0
          rule = "lsdev -C -s fcp -t TSM-FCSCSI -F name"

  2. If he does not get above output, then this is the problem in
  the 7.1.1 installation.
  Then he needs to verify if there is the Config_Rules.odmadd at
  /opt/tivoli/tsm/devices directory.
  If so, he needs to issue cat command to check this file to see
  if there is an entry as

  Config_Rules:
    phase = 2
    seq = 60
    boot_mask = 0
    rule = "lsdev -C -s fcp -t TSM-FCSCSI -F name"
  
  3. If he sees above entry in the Config_Rules.odmadd file, then
  he can run command as
  
  odmadd Config_Rules.odmadd
  
  
  4. Then he needs to run step1 to verify the entry in the ODM.
  
  5. run one of following commands to bring all devices to
  Available state.
  
     shutdown -Fr
  or
     cfgmgr
