Error description

  • During AUDIT VOLUME or REPLICATE NODE the following error might
    be reported in the ACTLOG:

    ANR9999D_2644193874 BfCheckEndToEnd(bfdedup.c:9479) Thread<804>:
Data integrity error detected for deduplicated object 117273366

The object reported in the message must meet all of the
    following conditions:
The object must have been replicated from another server.
The object is larger than the MAXFRAGMENTSIZE setting.
The source servers storage pool was deduplication enabled.
The source object has gone through identify processing on the
    source server.
The source object was not stored using client deduplication.
The target servers storage pool is deduplication enabled.
The object can be successfully restored or retrieved by the
client if it is not currently marked as being damaged.

    Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
To determine if the object is effected use the following
    command:

    show invo 117273366

The following shows that the object is a fragment:
**Super-Bitfile 117273366 is a fragment in Super Aggregate
    117267538

Look for a chunk 0 digest type of SMD5 to indicate a server
    dedup object, for example:
        Chunk 0: 117273366, digest type: SMD5, value: E6F42EC1

    Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected:
Tivoli Storage Manager server version 6.3.X and 7.1.X

    Initial Impact:
    medium

    Additional Keywords:
    TSM, zz63, zz71, repl node

Local fix

  • Make the file undamaged using the MAKEUNDAMAGED command so it
can be restored to the client.

    MAKEUndamaged <stgpool_name> <bitfile_id>

The bitfile_id is displayed in the ANR9999D_2644193874 message.
    For example:
    MAKEUndamaged filepool 117273366

The stgpool_name is displayed in the output of the "show invo"
    command.

    show invo 117273366

Problem conclusion

  • This problem was fixed. Files replicated with this fix applied
will not encounter this problem. Previously affected files will
now encounter this problem during restore or retrieve with this
fix applied. The data for the previously affected files is still
intact and can be restored or retrieved by setting the
"IGNORECHECKSUMerrors" server option to "Yes" using the "SETOPT"
command prior to attempting the restore or retrieve. The error
message will still be issued, however the operation will
continue. Immediately after restoring or retrieving the
affected files, set the "IGNORECHECKSUMerrors" server option to
"No" using the "SETOPT" command. Alternatively, affected files
can be deleted on the target replication server using AUDIT
VOLUME FIX=YES . The deleted files will be replicated during the
next replication. Be aware that using the
"IGNORECHECKSUMerrors" option to allow restore or retrieve files
not affected by this problem could cause corrupted data to be
    restored or retrieved.

Affected platforms: AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, and Windows.
