Error description

  • During a client restore operation, the permissions of the
filesystem mount point directories may not be restored properly.
For example, /mnt/data is the name of the filesystem to be
    restored:

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
       /dev/data 3.0G 69M 2.8G 3% /mnt/data

The output from a SELECT statement issued against the Tivoli
Storage Manager server confirms that the /mnt/data mount point
directory exists and is owned by the 'tsminst1' user:

             NODE_NAME: CLIENTA
        FILESPACE_NAME: /mnt/data
          FILESPACE_ID: 25
                 STATE: ACTIVE_VERSION
                  TYPE: DIR
               HL_NAME: /
               LL_NAME:
             OBJECT_ID: 99999999
           BACKUP_DATE: 2014-02-02 11:02:26.000000
       DEACTIVATE_DATE:
                 OWNER: tsminst1
            CLASS_NAME: DEFAULT

A restore operation performed against the /mnt/data filesystem
appears to show that the mount point directory is successfully
    restored:

       # dsmc restore /mnt/data/ -subdir=yes -replace=yes

ANS1247I Waiting for files from the server...
       Restoring 4,096 /mnt/data/ [Done]
       Restoring 404,090,880 /mnt/data/files.tar [Done]

       Restore processing finished.

Total number of objects restored: 2
Total number of objects failed: 0
Total number of bytes transferred: 385.38 MB
       Data transfer time: 6.05 sec

       Elapsed processing time: 00:00:10

However, the permissions (owner/group) of the /mnt/data mount
point directory are not properly restored as expected:

       #ls -lrtd /mnt/data
       drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Dec 2 11:58 /mnt/data
