Error description

  • When completing a full incremental backup to validate and enable
    a Tivoli Storage Manager client journal database, the operation
    can experience errors while processing some files.  For example,
    a file that is temporarily unavailable at backup time cannot be
    sent to the Server, and may report an error similar to the
    following:
    
      ANS4008E Error processing '/fs/file1': file is temporarily
               unavailable
    
    Despite errors preventing certain files from being backed up,
    the journal database can be unexpectedly validated and enabled
    for future journal based backups.
    
    Any files that were not successfully backed up during the
    initial full initial incremental can be ignored by subsequent
    journal based backups (unless the files in error change at
    some point after the journal is enabled).

  • Disable journal based backups until fixing maintenance can be
    applied.
