  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Running a QUERY command from the Tivoli Storage Manager
Operations Center Administrative Command Line, it may fail with
    the error "unexpected token ....".

    For example:

    TSMSERVER1> q ses
    Unexpected token }

    TSMSERVER1> q stg
    Unexpected token ILLEGAL

The commands affected would be any QUERY command that reports
floating point values (such as QUERY STORAGEPOOL, VOLUME and
SESSION) or integer values larger than 2147483648 (such as QUERY
    STATUSTHRESHOLD).
QUERY commands that report small integer values (such as QUERY
    ADMIN) would not be affected.
This issue occurs only when the query are executed from
Operations Center and when the locale's decimal point is set to
a comma instead of a period.

    Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected:
Tivoli Storage Manager Server v.6.3.4 and later

    Initial Impact:
    Low

    Additional Keywords:
TSM OC OPERATIONS CENTER COMMANDS ADMIN CLI ERROR UNEXPECTED
TOKEN ILLEGAL REQUEST QUERY STGPOOL fullstop period

Local fix

  • Ensure that "locale" setting for the server machine is set to
    use a period (.) instead of a comma (,).
For example, On AIX, you should be able to use the "locale -ck
decimal_point" command to see the decimal point defined by the
    current locale.
