Error description

  • The Graphical Scheduling application at times can show a
negative duration value. The issue stems from the assignment
being made outside of the scheduler dates and then being back
into the window of start and end date specified on the
    graphical scheduling record.
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1, Create a new work order and add a location or asset to the
    work order.
    2. In the Scheduling Information section of the work order
check the Interruptible flag and set a target start date a day
away from the current date and make the end date a day after
the start date. Set the duration to 20 hours.
    3. On the plans tab add 2 task, make both interruptible, make
each a duration of 10 hours and set the Target start date and
end date to the same value set on the work order tab.
    4. Add 2 crafts, 1 for each task added to work order and save.
    5. In the Graphical Scheduling application create a new
scheduler record. Add the calendar, shift and the work order
number created from above. Notice the start and end date for
the scheduler, that is a 14 day window by default based on the
off set value set on the on the More Information tab.
    6. Move the Graphical View tab, here we will see the task 10
and 20 both have the target start date set earlier in the Work
    Order application.
    7. Right click on the work order number and move the work order
    tracking application.
    8. For both the parent work order and the 2 task set the
Scheduled Start and End date to a date range that is past the
14 day window set on the scheduler record. For instance if the
date ends on April 15 set the scheduled start for May 1st and
the end date for May 2nd, just make sure to not use a weekend
date. Once the scheduled start and end dates have been set on
both work order tab and plans tab save the changes made and
return back to the Scheduler application.
    9. Once back to the Scheduler application perform a discard
changes and refresh so that the changes made are reflected on
the scheduler record. We should now see the start and end date
on the record reflect the changes made when in the work order
    tracking application.
    10. Double click the description field for task 10 so that you
are taken to the assignment for that task. Right click on the
task and select move to date, move the assignment back to a
date range that now falls between the original dates when the
scheduler record was created (if needed check the schedule tab
    for dates).
    RESULTS:
    11. Save the changes made and we should notice that the
duration for the task moved now shows in a negative value, this
is incorrect it should not be a negative value.
    EXPECTED RESULTS:
That it would have moved back to the date and the duration
value would have remained a positive value.
    REPORTED IN VERSION:
    Maximo 7.6.1.0 with Scheduler 7.6.7.1
