Error description
New agents in the deployment (with version greater than 9.5.5) may fail to register to the server. In the server log, you can read an error message similar to the following: Uncaught exception in plugin ClientRegister with client ###.###.###.###: WindowsCharacterSetResult: Error 1113 (No mapping for the Unicode character exists in the target multi-byte code page.) in TranscodeU8ToU16
Local fix
A workaround is to revert the client to 9.5.5 on clients that have the invalid serial number.
Problem summary
Fixed in IBM BigFix 9.5 (fixpack 11) General availability end of Q4 2018 (release schedule subject to change).
