Error description

  • Asset function formulas which use two levels of function, as
illustrated below cause an error when implemented.
Singular function example that works as expected:
     (ABS(METERVAL("OUTPRESG01")))
Multiple function example that causes error:
    ABS(ABS(METERVAL("OUTPRESG01")))
An example implementation of MAHI formulas bound by a maximum
    and a minimum:
    MAX(MIN(METERMAXVAL("OUTPRESG01",DURATION(0,1,0,0,0,0)),SPECATTR
    VAL("OUTPRESG01")),0)/SPECATTRVAL("OUTPRESG01")
*Adding the outer "MAX(?,0)" to the formula causes an
    error to be thrown.
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    -Log in to maxdemo instance
-Go To System Configuration | Platform Configuration | Database
    Configuration
-More Actions | Add/Modify Formula For Attribute
-In the top section click the New Row button
-In the Object Name field enter "asset" and press Enter
    -Click ASSET
-In the Attribute Name field enter "description" and press Enter
    -Click DESCRIPTION
-In the Formula Expression field enter:
    ABS(ABS(METERVAL("OUTPRESG01")))
    -Click OK
    RESULTS:
    System Message appears:
"BMXAA9377E - The formula syntax validation failed. Ensure that
the formula does not have an invalid attribute, operator, or
function, or is not missing parentheses. Refer to the formula
guide to view valid formula syntax.
    null"
    EXPECTED RESULTS:
The formula will save without error
