APAR status

Error description

  • Description:
    In a BROS environment a userid which contains a "\" character
    will have authentication error thrown when attempting to run a
    report.
    Process Flow.
    User EMEA\MAXUSER logs in Maximo UI JVM.
    Executes a report.
    Maximo puts an entry in MAXTOKEN table as EMEA\MAXUSER and
    forwards the request to RPT JVM.
    RPT JVM authenticates the user against MAXTOKEN table but
    checks for the userid EMEA\\MAXUSER which it will not find and
    request fails with unauthenticated error.
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    Configuration of a BROS server is required
    Enablement of a userid that contains a "\" is required
    therefore likely best to have LDAP authentication for the
    Maximo instance so an AD user can be created that contains
    this "\"

    Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0.6
