Error description
Ø This is related to APAR IJ00035 - IN GRAPHICAL SCHEDULING WHEN USING TRUE AVAILABILITY ON SQL SERVER QUERY RUNS FOR MINUTES INSTEAD OF SECONDS except that this client is using Oracle. When they open a Schedule at times it just hangs and the wait cursor spins forever when they click on the Gantt View. In a webex we found that the slow SQL was the same as for the other APAR above. When the load on their system is light it appears to be less likely to happen. The problem is due to the SQL Maximo creates when using the Modify Availability records created in Assignment Manager to calculate the True Availability shown in the Resource section of the Gantt View tab. STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 1. Go To System Properties and make sure that mxe.skd.resourceavail is set to 1. Change it and Live Refresh if necessary. 2. We will use the Maxdemo 6000 series WO for these steps. 3. Go To Assignment Manager to create Modify Availability (Modavail) records. 4. Query for the 600% WOs. 5. Pick a few ELECT and MECH on the DAY shift and click on the Modify Availability icon at the right end of the row to create several Modify Work Dates records for each of the Labor. 2 Labor of each Craft who are on DAY is ok. 6. Go To Scheduler and create a new Schedule. 7. Give it Calendar DAY and Shift DAY. Extend the Calendar and Apply shifts through the end of the year if necessary. 8., Create a Work Query to select the 6000 series WO. 9. Save 10. Click on the Gantt View tab. 11. Click on Resource Time-Based tab in the lower 1/2 Resources section at the bottom of the Gantt. RESULTS: For the client this would appear to hang if the load on their system was heavy. EXPECTED RESULTS: It should process in a reasonably short period of time. PRODUCT VERSION: Maximo 7.5.0.11 with the current IFix running Oracle.
Local fix
Turn off System Property mxe.skd.resourceavail by setting it to 0 and do a Live Refresh.
