Error description

  • Ø
In Graphical Scheduling summary WO durations are calculated
differently when the CPM button is used versus the CPM Selected
    button.

For APAR IJ05243 we added this system property
"skd.duration.includeNonWorkingTime" so that the user now had
the choice of including the non-working time into the duration
for Interruptible WO or not including it. This was done for
the "Perform Critical Path Method on All Rows" toolbar button.

Now it needs to be done for the other CPM toolbar button,
"Perform Critical Path Method on Selected Rows" (CPM Selected).
This APAR is for changing Scheduler so that we add the use of
that new system property to CPM Selected. Then both CPM
buttons will function the same way.

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

NOTE: Must be reproduced on an environment with Scheduler Plus
    running 7.6.0.9 IFix 004

    1. Go to System Properties and set this property:
       skd.duration.includeNonWorkingTime
to zero. Save and Live Refresh.
    2. Go to WOTrack and create a new WO that is Interruptible.
    3. Give it 3 tasks, all Interruptible. Task 10 has duration
    3, Task 20 duration 8 and Task 30 duration 6.
    4. Make Task 10 a Predecessor of 20 and 20 a Predecessor of 30.
    5. Save.
    6. Duplicate that WO and it's Tasks.
    7. Go to GS and create a new Schedule.
    8. Give it Calendar DAY, Shift DAY. Make sure that Calendar
DAY has Shifts applied until at least the end of this year.
    9. Give it a Start of the next Monday.
    10. Create a Work Query to select the 2 new WO created above.
    11. Save.
    12. Click on the Graphical View tab. Click on the "Perform
Critical Path Method on All Rows" toolbar button (called CPM
All from now on). You will see the duration of the summary
bars become the sum of the durations of the Tasks or 3 + 8 + 6
    = 17.
    13. Right Click in an area where there are no bars and pick
Zoom To Work. Zoom out once. Save.
    14. Now drag Task 10 for the first WO so that instead of 7am it
starts at 9am. You will see the duration of its Parent WO
change to 47. This is the sum of the durations of the Tasks
plus the two non-working times of 16 hours each (32 hours
total) minus the 2 hour overlap for Tasks 10 and 20 (17+32-2 =
    47)
    15. Click CPM All and you will see the duration change back to
          17 for the Parent WO.
    16. Now drag Task 10 back to a 7am start and you will see the
Parent WO duration become 51 (Task durations of 17 plus 32
hours of non-working time plus the 2 hour gap between Tasks 10
    and 20).
    17. Rubberband a rectangle around the Tasks 10, 20 and 30 bars
(or click the checkboxes in front of each row on the left) to
    select the 3 Tasks.
    18. Instead of clicking on CPM All, click on CPM Selected (the
next toolbar icon to the right "Perform Critical Path Method on
    Selected Rows").

    RESULT:

This is the problem, the duration of the Parent WO stays at 51
instead of being recalculated to 17 as it did when CPM All was
run. The CPM Selected button doesn't calculate the Parent WO
    durations the same way.
If you click on CPM All now you will see the duration change to
    17.

    EXPECTED RESULTS:

The Parent WO duration should recalculate to the same value
with CPM Selected as it does with CPM All

    ENVIRONMENT (SYSTEM INFO):

    7.6.0.9 with IFix 004
