Error description
Client register errors logged on the server after upgrading some clients to 9.5.8 The error logged is the following: /cgi-bin/bfenterprise/clientregister.exe (8360) - Uncaught exception in plugin ClientRegister with client <IP_ADDRESS>: WindowsCharacterSetResult: Error 1113 (No mapping for the Unicode character exists in the target multi-byte code page.) in TranscodeU8ToU16. The same error is logged on the Relay chain that is used by the affected clients to register to the server. The IP address reported in the log is the one of the top level relay, of the relay chain used by the affected client to reach the server. Affected clients are those having a serial number with characters that the client is not able to Transcode.
Local fix
A workaround is to revert the client to 9.5.5 on systems having the invalid serial number.

Fixed in IBM BigFix 9.5 (fixpack 10) General availability Q4 2018 (release schedule subject to change).
