IJ04926: IN WORK ORDER TRACKING APPLICATION, SYSTEM CHANGES WO STATUS FROM WMATL TO APPR EVEN NOT HAVING BALANCE IN THE STOREROOM.

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Steps to replicate the issue:
    
    1) Go to Organizations application
    
    2) Bring up the Organization in question
    
    3) Select Action > Work Order Options > Other Organization
    Options
    
    4) In "Other Organization Options" dialog-box, make sure the
    "Ignore storeroom availability for work order status?" option is
    unchecked
    
    5) Select Action > Inventory Options > Inventory Defaults
    
    6) In "Inventory Defaults" dialog-box, make sure that both
    "Disallow Negative Balance" and "Allow Negative Available
    Balance" options are selected.
    
    7) Go to Item Master application
    
    8) Create a new Item as the following and save:
    Item = any valid Item number
    Order Unit = EACH
    Issue Unit = EACH
    
    9) Change Item Status to ACTIVE, selecting the option "Roll New
    Status to Organizations and Inventory?".
    
    10) Select Action > Add Items to Storeroom
    
    11) From Add Items to Storeroom dialog, enter:
    BEDFORD Site
    CENTRAL Storeroom
    Unit Cost = 1.00
    Current Balance = zero
    
    12) Click OK, save Item and take note of its number
    
    13) Go to Work Order Tracking application
    
    14) Create a new WAPPR WO against any valid GL Account
    
    15) Go to Plans tab, add a new Task to the WO and save
    
    16) Go to Plans tab > Materials sub-tab, enter 02 new rows as
    the following and save:
    
    Task = 10 (the Task created above)
    Item = the Item created above
    Storeroom = CENTRAL
    Quantity = 1.00
    Order Unit = EACH
    Unit Cost = 1.00
    
    Task = leave it empty; no Task
    Item = the Item created above
    Storeroom = CENTRAL
    Quantity = 1.00
    Order Unit = EACH
    Unit Cost = 1.00
    
    17) Change the WO Status to APPR
    
    Note: System changes WO Status to WMATL. That's OK.
    
    18) Mark one of the planned material lines for delete
    
    The issue is:
    
    At this point, system changes the WO Status to APPR even not
    having balance in the Storeroom.
    

Local fix

  • No workaround.
