APAR status

Error description

  • PROBLEM:
    When completing a inventory usage record of the type transfer,
    that was prepared in the past (previous financial period).
    Maximo returns followin error message, with a question at the
    end: The financial period for the specified date is closed. The
    next open financial period will be used. Do you wish to
    continue? Clicking OK is the only option, but there is no
    impact/change. It returns to the status change box, after
    processing again the same error appears. Expected: Yes, No,
    Cancel options, and updated actual date after choosing YES.
    Maximo is using the STATUS DATE of the transfer to check
    financial period. This seems illogical as the status date of
    the line is not the ACTUAL transfer date. The actual transfer
    will take place after changing the status to COMPLETE. Using
    the status date of the completion of the Inventory Usage, seems
    better. Suggestion Jeroen: It looks like it selects the
    error-type of the first error message, with red icon.
    Normally a question like this should appear as a warning with a
    yellow icon and Yes, No, Cancel options. This will happen for
    all prepared TRANSFERS for Import parts that were created in
    previous months, and completed in another month. HOW TO
    REPRODUCE: - Search for prepared TRANSFER in Inventory Usage
    (with actual date in closed financial period) - Change status
    to COMPLETE - Error message - Click OK - Try again.. again..
    and again.
    
    PERFORMANCE ISSUE: NO
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    
    1) Go to Chart Of Accounts application > Financial Periods
    Make sure there is a financial period still valid between
    January 1, 2017 and January,1 2018
    
    2) Create a new financial period (if it does not exist) between
    January 2, 2018 and January 1, 2019
    
    3) Go to the Inventory Usage application and create a new usage
    Usage Type: TRANSFER
    From Storeroom: CENTRAL
    
    Usage Lines:
    Itemnum: 560-00
    Quantity: 1
    ToStoreroom: PKG
    New Physical Count Date:: 2/13/17
    Actual Date: 2/13/17
    
    Save
    
    4) Go back to Chart Of Accounts application > Financial Periods
    Take the created period that includes the date inserted in the
    fields of the invusage lines (New Physical Count Date:: 2/13/17
    and Actual Date: 2/13/17)  complete the dates in the fields
    Accounting Close Date: (1/1/18) and Actual Close Date (1/1/18)
    
    OK
    
    5) Go back to Inventory Usage appliction and pick up the usage
    created above
    Try to change the status to COM{PLETE
    
    EXPECTED RESULT: An error message will pop up on the screen:
    BMXAA7691E - The status of inventory usage 1028 cannot be
    changed to COMPLETE.
    BMXAA1196W - The financial period for the specified date is
    closed. The next open financial period will be used. Do you
    wish to continue?
    Normally a question like this should appear as a warning with a
    yellow icon and Yes, No, Cancel options
    
    And if you choose YES, Maximo allow to complete the transfer
    
    CURRENT ERRONEOUS RESULT: After the following error message
    pops up on the screen, you only have the option to click OK
    and cannot complete the transaction:
    
    BMXAA7691E - The status of inventory usage 1028 cannot be
    changed to COMPLETE.
    BMXAA1196W - The financial period for the specified date is
    closed. The next open financial period will be used. Do you
    wish to continue?
