Error description

  • When you have a Task that is Non-interruptible and it spans
Working time and Non-working time the duration gets reduced
when you run CPM by the amount of the Task that was in the
    Non-working time.
If the Task was 4 hours long and 3 hours are in the Non-working
time, then you only have a 1 hour duration left.
The duration should not be reduced, the Task should be allowed
to work in the Non-working time the same as it does in working
    time.
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    1. Create a new WO and make sure that Interruptible is not
    checked.
    2. Add 3 Tasks to the WO, each 4 hours long and make sure that
    Interruptible is not checked.
    3. Link the Tasks together, 10 goes to 20 and 20 goes to 30,
using the Predecessors field for each Task. On Task 20 use
Predecessors to pick task 10. On Task 30 use Predecessors to
pick task 20 as its predecessor.
    4. Create a new Schedule. Calendar DAY, Shift DAY.
    5. Give it a Work Query to select the WO created above.
    6. Save and click on the Gantt/Graphical View tab.
    7. Run CPM for all records.
    8. You will see the 3 Tasks spread out one after the other.
Tasks 10 and 20 will be on the first day and Task 30 will be in
the Working time on the next day.
    9. Drag Task 20 so part of it is in the Working time and part
of it is in the Non-working time.
    10. Run CPM.
    CURRENT ERRONEOUS RESULT:
    Now you see the problems:
     - If 3 hours of time was in the Non-working
time, that 3 hours is subtracted from its original duration of
4 and now only 1 hour of duration is left for Task 20.
     - The Duration column for Task 20 shows 4 but when you
Alt-Left click on the bar it says Duration 1.
     - Task 30 now says it is 20 hours long on the Alt-Left Click
dialog and it has 4 in the Column.
Save and Commit and the durations stay incorrect and
    inconsistent.
    EXPECTED RESULT:
The Tasks should stay at their original durations and should be
    scheduled in the Non-working time.
